Frequently asked questions
What information do you need to select a sensor?
Material measured (liquid/solid, sticky or not), tank height, temperature and pressure, output signal needed, and whether it's continuous or point alarm.
Which sensor works with foamy liquid?
Ultrasonic struggles in foam; radar-type or hydrostatic measurement is more reliable — tell us the foam density and we'll advise.
Pressure transmitter vs. gauge — what's the difference?
A gauge shows pressure locally, for a person to read. A transmitter converts it to a signal (usually 4–20 mA) for a control system — needed for automation.
Why is 4–20 mA signal so common?
It's noise-resistant and self-diagnosing: if the signal drops below 4 mA, that means the line is broken — a voltage signal can't distinguish that. It's the industrial standard.
