What does assembly paste do?
Two things: eases assembly, and prevents parts from seizing together over time. Bolts on hot or corrosive lines become unremovable at the next service without it.
My hot-line bolts won't come loose — help?
That's classic seizing — surfaces have fused at high temperature. For the current job, penetrating oil and controlled heat may help; going forward, use high-temperature assembly paste on reassembly.
Why should paste be used on stainless bolts?
Stainless-to-stainless contact is prone to galling — threads sticking and tearing so the bolt can't be turned either way. Assembly paste largely eliminates this risk.
Which assembly paste should I choose?
Operating temperature, joint material, and environment (moisture, chemical, food contact) determine it. Tell us these three and we'll select together.
